Tachibana Gardens
National Site of Scenic Beauty
Sadayoshi Tachibana, the 5th lord of Yanagawa, built a residence to escape political affairs and to relax and spend time with family. It was set up as a Western style guest house, and then a large Japanese hall for the style of the time between 1909 and 1910. The residence and black pines surround the garden, which is in a shoto-en style, offering a magnificent landscape. The entire site was designated a National Site of Scenic Beauty in 2011.
