The Matsura Historical Museum is housed in the impressive residence that belonged to the Matsura clan, who ruled Hirado island from the 11th to the 19th century, and prospered though international trade.
Inside the museum, you can dress up in armor or a kimono, and admire the treasures of the Matsura clan. You can also enjoy tea made in the style of the samurai tea ceremony and authentic sweets in the thatched tea ceremony house.
