Sengan-en Garden
Sengan-en Garden houses a villa constructed by Shimazu Mitsuhisa in 1658. One of the greatest features of Sengan-en Garden is the majestic scenery of the garden that replicates Kinko Bay and Sakura-jima. With an area covering 50,000 square meters, Sengan-en Garden offers a host of things to see, including historical, cultural and natural wonders. These include an architectural style deeply influenced by Chinese culture, perfectly suited to the history and culture of Satsuma long considered the gateway to the South, as well as flowers and events that dazzle each of the four seasons and the roots of modern Japanese technology and industrial strength remaining nearby.
